This work, particularly in education, can create seismic shifts in the opportunities to access a better life for everyday people. Anders worked as a high school English teacher at Franklin Heights High School in the Columbus Hilltop neighborhood for three years, directly experiencing Ohio’s approach to education. After seeing how this approach harmed students’ opportunities to access a free and fair education, he became passionate about advocating for a better public education system.

Beyond the classroom, Anders founded the Ohio Education Association's New Educators (O.N.E.) group and the National Education Association's Young Professionals Caucus to support new educators in their first years of the profession.

Consequently, Anders went to the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University to pursue the goal of bettering public education in Ohio through our legal and political system. During law school, Anders worked in various roles including Law Clerk for Representative Bobby Scott (VA-03), Chairman of the United States House of Representatives' Committee on Education and at the National Conference of State Legislatures for their Elections and Campaigns Team.

Anders enjoys reading, hip-hop music, and snowboarding. He loves being greeted by his cat Mariah when he goes home at the end of the day.
