Caitlin DiCresce

Professional Biography

Caitlin DiCresce started her career with LASC in 2017 as an Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation Justice for All Fellow. Her fellowship, the Child Advancement Project, focused on providing holistic legal services to children and families who have experienced trauma. Primarily, the forms of trauma that her clients experienced included domestic abuse, homelessness, and contact with the juvenile justice system. Caitlin created her fellowship to provide comprehensive advocacy to at-risk children and families, and to bring greater visibility to the legal and educational issues that impact children within her community. After her fellowship, Caitlin has remained at LASC to continue her advocacy on behalf of Columbus families as a staff attorney on both the Domestic and Public Benefits/Education teams. She provides legal representation in family court, during negotiations and hearings with administrative agencies, at suspension and expulsion hearings, and throughout the special education process.

Caitlin joined LASC after earning her law degree at The Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law. At Moritz, she received a Certificate in Children Studies for completing specialized coursework in children’s law and juvenile justice issues. Caitlin was also a member of the Ohio State Law Journal. During her time in law school, Caitlin was an LASC volunteer with the Pro Bono Bankruptcy Project. She received recognition as a Public Service Fellow with Dean’s Highest Honors for her volunteer work during law school, both at LASC and elsewhere.
