Dustin D. Richardson

Dustin D. Richardson

Professional Biography

Dustin D. Richardson joined the Legal Aid Society of Columbus in March 2022 as part of the TAP (Tenant Advocacy Project) and RISE (Reentry, Income Security, and Education) teams. In this role, Dustin uses his extensive experience in litigation to protect the rights of clients at risk of eviction, students facing expulsion from school, parents and caregivers standing up for their child’s right to a free and appropriate education, and justice-involved individuals looking to seal their criminal records after turning their lives around.

Throughout his legal career, Dustin has dedicated himself to public service. First, he ethically prosecuted individuals accused of criminal activity, a position which culminated in his leadership of the child abuse prosecution unit at the Clark County, WA, Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Dustin then went on to start a solo law practice with an emphasis on public criminal defense. In recognition of his reputation for integrity, he was appointed by the Clark County Superior Court judges to serve as a Superior Court Commissioner Pro Tempore, presiding over juvenile justice dockets.

In his role at LASC, Dustin is passionate about equal access to justice for all, regardless of their ability to pay for legal representation. “I am excited to bring my commitment to public service to the provision of equal justice under the law for people without the economic means to hire an attorney in civil rather than criminal settings.”
