Professional Biography

Jacqueline Gutter is a staff attorney with the consumer team at the Legal Aid Society of Columbus. Before graduating from Capital University Law School in 2005, she developed a background in public service, graduating from The Ohio State University with a degree in criminology (1996) and a Master’s of Social Work (2001). Jackie joined LASC in 2006 as a staff attorney on the domestic team. She spent five years working in domestic before she moved to her current position on the consumer team. As a consumer attorney, she handles cases dealing with general debt, foreclosure, repossession, credit card debt, student loans, payday loans, and car title loans. Most of her caseload is comprised of defense cases, but she occasionally represents clients who file affirmative lawsuits. Through her practice, Jacqueline works to address the constantly evolving systematic issues that trap low-income individuals in the cycles of debt and poverty.
