Professional Biography

Kristy A. Michel is currently an Equal Justice Fellow working with the Public Benefits team at LASC. Besides providing representation to clients with issues in areas such as food assistance, social security disability, Medicaid, Medicare, or cash assistance programs, Kristy runs a fellowship project that focuses on the Ohio Works First (OWF) program. Her fellowship goals are to provide education, representation, and advocacy support to work-eligible individuals eligible for OWF benefits. Her fellowship is being sponsored by The Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation from July 1, 2015-June 30, 2017.



She has previous experience as an in-house LASC volunteer with the Public Benefits team and more than twelve years in human resources management. Kristy became an Equal Justice Fellow and Public Benefits attorney because she is driven to make sure all low-income, disabled, and elderly individuals receive the public benefits they need to help improve their lives. She is dedicated to helping these individuals in any way possible.
